Reach Out
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me." (Matthew 25:35 & 36)
At St. James we take seriously the sentiment that Jesus shared with his disciples in the 25th chapter of Matthew - how we treat one another in this life matters! When we serve our neighbors, we have the unique opportunity to see Christ in them and let them see Christ in us. The Church does not exist for itself. Though we take good care of each other, it is important that self-care does not become the full extent of our ministry. Unless we reach outside of the walls of our building to those in the world in need of God's love we are not living into Jesus' call to us to become true disciples.
At St. James we strive to minister to those in our community in a variety of ways. Please visit the pages listed on the left hand side of this tab for more detailed information about what outreach ministries we participate in and how you can get involved.
