Vestry

In order to manage the corporal affairs of St. James, a group of 9 members of the congregation are elected by the church's membership at the Annual Meeting and are given the title of Vestry. Members are elected for a three year rotating term so that each year three members are released from their responsibilities and three new members are elected to serve.

Each year, the rector appoints a member of the vestry to serve as Senior Warden. S/he is responsible for managing all church affairs in the absence of the Rector. Another officer, elected by the Vestry, is the Junior Warden that is charged with caring for all church facilities. In addition, each member of the vestry is appointed as liason to various orgranizations that fall under the categories of Worship, Christian Formation, Mission & Outreach and Church Governance.

	Jerry Howard - 2011 - 2014 I have been a member of St. James since 1974 when I first moved to Shreveport. This was the first church my family visited and had no desire to go anywhere else. 37 years later I still have a sincere love for St. James.
